Itinerary

Stop 1Eureka House - La Maison Creole

Eureka House is a unique Creole house built in 1830 located by the river of Moka. It is an elegant Créole residence originally owned by British and French aristocrats in the 19th century. It is reputed to be one of the largest houses on the island, with 109 doors and windows. The visit of the Eureka Mansion and its grounds provides an intriguing glimpse into colonial life. The house is filled with antiques and photos of the period. It also has a magnificent garden surrounded by waterfalls of the Moka River.

Stop 2L'Aventure Du Sucre - Sugar Museum

L’Aventure du Sucre is situated at Pamplemousses and it was founded in th1797. It is one of the best museums in Mauritius where you can learn about the Mauritian history and culture. Normally, it takes two hours to visit the museum completely and it eventually ends with a tasting of different sugars and Mauritian rum.

Stop 3Chateau De Labourdonnais

Chateau de Labourdonnais is among the Mauritius’ foremost cultural attractions and a flagship of a national heritage. It is situated in the north of the island and it was owned by Christian Wiehe, an influential figure of the 19th century. At Chateau de Labourdonnais, you can visit The Boutique and La Table du Chateau. It is a place where endemic plants and exotic trees grow in harmony.

Stop 4Pamplemousses Botanical Garden

Botanical garden was established during the 1770 and it was constructed by Pierre Poivre. It is the oldest botanical garden in the southern hemisphere where pond of giant water lilies can be found. It covers an area of around 37 hectares.
